Benefits & Uses of Essential Oils | doTERRASeptember 09, 2016
Thanks to Kendra Hales from doTERRA for sending me these essential oils to test and review. As always, all opinions expressed here are unbiased and my own.
If you are someone like me and are on the path to a healthier and more natural living, then essential oils are, of course, an “essential” part of your lifestyle. But, if you are not there yet, it's never too late to jump on the bandwagon since the benefits of essential oils are multifold. From improving your physical health to boosting your emotional well-being, they play a vital role in supporting a healthy lifestyle (now who wouldn’t want that!).
Essential oils are natural oils typically obtained by distillation and they have the characteristic fragrance of the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and/or other parts of plants from which they are extracted. They can be used in three different ways - aromatic (inhaling), topical (applied to the skin) and internal (ingested).
While there’s a really long list of essential oils to choose from, always start with a few basic ones such as lemon oil, peppermint oil, lavender oil, etc. or choose one depending on the issue you intend to tackle (read examples below). Having said that, today I want to share with you some of my new favorite essential oils from doTERRA, some of their benefits and how to use them (thanks to Kendra from doTERRA for recommending some excellent ways to use these oils, after all she is an expert!).
‘doTERRA (meaning “Gift of the Earth.”) was built on the mission of sharing therapeutic-grade essential oils with the world.
