Valentine's Day Outfit | Pink Crochet Shift Dress | Bump Style

January 31, 2017

It’s the last day of January you guys… Weren’t we just celebrating the holidays, Christmas and New Year’s, and it’s already time to celebrate the season of LOVE? Howzat???
Well, no complaints though, 2017 has been off to a great start - enjoyed our first vacation of the year, kicked off a few exciting projects, and with many more adventures to look forward to this year, I couldn’t be more ecstatic!!! Hope the year has been just as (positively) eventful for you as it has been for us :)

And speaking of which, I didn’t really wait for February to kick start celebrating the season of love (talk about impatience, I often joke that it is my middle name, haha!). The hubs and I were  on a romantic vacation in the Aloha State for our Babymoon and I didn’t need any more reason than that to flaunt some Valentine’s Day inspired looks (and the bump, if you know what I mean ;)). Starting with strutting around town wearing this oh-so-pretty-and-romantic Crochet Shift Dress from SheIn.

To be honest, I have always liked well-fitted dresses and was never a big fan of shift dresses myself, until I recently tried a few shift dresses and now I have completely fallen in love with them. The right Shift Dress just looks great on every body type, period. If you don’t own any Shift Dresses yourself, here’s why you need a few in your wardrobe, ASAP, and some tips to help you pick ‘em…

  1. Shift Dresses are uber-comfortable as they do not clinch at your waist or hips. They are perfect to hide that food-baby (or in my case, to flaunt the bump, baby! Hello, #PregnancyStyle).
  2. Opt for bright colors or one with bold prints so it does not look boring due to lack of shape or details, and accessorize it with some statement pieces to dress it up.
  3. Shift Dresses are generally quite casual, so throw on a leather jacket to look hip or to add some rock-chic vibes.
  4. If you’d like to flaunt what you’ve got (figure or the bump ;)), add shape to an otherwise shapeless dress with a belt. Pick a metallic belt for a night out.
  5. Last but not the least, if you are pregnant like me, there is plenty of room to grow and still fit into a (non-maternity) shift dress without an ounce of struggle. Trust me, it is a big deal when you can’t fit into more than 80% of your current wardrobe, smh!!!

As far as this dress goes, the soft crochet fabric, the pom pom details, the long bell sleeves, the sweet blush pink color makes it a perfect day to night V-Day pick me up dress! You can dress down or dress up this crochet number to suit any occasion - be it going out with your Valentine or spending time with your Galentine… Sassy or Classy!

Tell me, what are you planning to wear this V-Day?
