Pantone Color Of The Year | Green Maxi Chiffon Dress

February 23, 2017

Though ‘Greenery’, the name of the Pantone Color Of The Year, isn’t quite as catchy and inspiring as one would have hoped, the color in itself is uplifting enough to look past the name and focus on the emotions it evokes…

"Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose." - Pantone

Regardless of the specific shade of green that Pantone has picked for 2017, Green is a refreshing color and symbolizes life and beauty in one too many ways.
The color is stimulating, revitalizing and invigorating in every which way, and well, it is evergreen!
It is the color of nature and indicates fertility, renewal and rebirth.
It is a color that stands for freshness, growth, balance and harmony.
It is also a color of healthy relationships.

And most of all, Greenery is also a symbol of new beginnings. It's as if Pantone knew that there were a whole lot of ‘new beginnings’ coming my way this year and hence decided to go with this color for the year, haha! :D So, keeping with the color of the year, Greenery (which also happens to be one of my favorite colors, with Emerald being my birthstone and all), how gorgeous is this Forest Green Deep V Neck Maxi Chiffon Dress that represents so much of what I talked about so far (except, now in terms of fashion of course). This showstopper maxi dress went with me on my babymoon and was a perfect outfit to wear in Hawaii (the dress btw also garnered a ton of compliments from strangers). The feminine layered ruffle details (also a Spring 2017 trend) on the dress are to die for. I particularly love the center ruched bodice with waistband as it adds that magic touch exactly where needed (in my case, the baby bump, but mind you this is non-maternity and still fit me perfectly!). The back has a sexy cut and the fluid hemline adds movement and drama as you walk… Drop dead gorgeous, wouldn’t you agree???

If you are not a fan of the color or still contemplating if you can pull it off, then here’s something that could change your mind...
Pair the color green and its shades with complementary colors
With neutrals
With yellows, pinks, purples, oranges and blues
Or with different shades of green

Goes without saying that we will all be seeing a whole lot of green this season - in stores, online, on the streets and pretty much everywhere, even including home decor (and I won’t be the one complaining). I sure hope that this year is full of growth, balance and harmony in all of our lives (as Pantone intended).
And while we are at it, how do you plan on incorporating Greenery in your life this year?
