Christmas is here, I mean, Christmas is ALMOST here you guys, I mean, it’s only 2 days away, and New Year’s Eve is right around the corner. But HOW?

With so much running around to check off all the to-do’s on the list, wrapping up year end stuff at work, planning travels, and everything in between, I am sure that deciding WHAT TO WEAR to all the Christmas gatherings, holiday parties and New Year’s eve is most likely the last thing on your mind. I totally get it cuz I am right there with you. Upon hearing this you are probably like, ‘But Kusum, you are always shopping so that can’t be true!’. But you guys, it totally is 100% true! Sure, I shop a lot, and sure, I have also ordered a ton of outfits in the recent weeks, but that doesn’t mean I know exactly what I will wear and when? I have no freaking clue either…

But what I do know is how to style for the holidays and how to make you sparkle and shine at all your holiday parties.

So to make it easy for both you and me, I am putting these quick looks and tips together so we don’t have to fret at the last minute (trust me, that happens even to me, no matter how full (and flooded) my wardrobe is, I too go all ‘I don’t have anything to wear’ phase every other day!).

This post and this one and even this post actually are all a great starting point too as I have already shared so many tips and outfit ideas over there. So be sure to check them out before you make way towards your wardrobe.

P.S: I do have at least 2 dozen more holiday outfits that I haven’t shown you guys yet. I haven’t had the time to do a photoshoot, + Seattle’s rainy weather doesn’t help either (makes it that much more challenging with a toddler in tow). Maybe I will just do a try on session on IG stories to give you all more outfit inspo.

* All things sequins and sparkles are a no-fail option, but you need to do it right or it will come across as trying too hard. From cami tops to mini skirts to all sparkling pants, this is just the trend to rock this time of the year.

* Dresses, another no-fail option (if you know my style, I am the kind to opt for a dress than wear jeans any time of the year). You can always resort to the classic black (or a red) dress for that matter, but what’s the fun in it? Try being a little more experimental, after all its the holidays and there’s no other better occasion to dress up than now. But if you still want to wear a black dress then sure, go for it but maybe spice up the look with a different hairdo and/or accessories.

* Trendy sweaters and sweater dresses (chunky, pom, printed, OTS, turtleneck, etc) paired with leggings/distressed jeans, a pom beanie, a blanket scarf, and booties/OTK boots. It’s that casual laid back yet cute look which almost requires no effort. If you don’t want to spend time or energy dressing up then this look is just for you. Just be creative enough to pick at least one piece that really stands out.

* Faux fur, adds an edge to your outfit and can totally elevate any look. Jackets/vests are an easy one, or find a fun wrap/scarf like this one.

* Festive skirts, this is my favorite look to put together. It’s feminine, fun, and flirty. And it’s also easy and breezy, if you know what I mean. You can get as creative as you want while styling a skirt. Choose from pleated, A-line, tulle, etc.

* Other fun options - rompers, jumpsuits, blazers, plaid, most importantly pattern and texture mixing. And not to forget the jewelry, bag, and shoes.

Now go raid your closet and pull a few holiday party and NYE looks together with clothes that you already own (don’t think any of us have time to shop for anything new at this hour, at least not before Christmas but maybe for NYE).

Happy Styling and Merry Christmas!
